2009 Christmas party - a great success [more]. Over 30 members and better halves attended this years Christmas party at The Charity Inn near Sandwich. Tony Mills provided the entertainment with 3 quizes plus music from Tony John.

October 2009 - Chapter member walks on fire to raise money for the Martha Trust...
"To all of those who kindly sponsored me for my walk over hot coals in aid of The Martha Trust,
I got to do the fire walk last Wednesday evening.
The video was taken on a mobile phone so it's not great but it does show how hot the coals were at the time.
Please note that I'm the second person you see walking over the coals in the video & I take it nice & slowly so you all get your money's worth.

October 09 - 10,000 referrals passed. Since the chapter was formed over 10,000 referrals have been passed between members valued at over £600,000. Darren Beeching was pulled out of the hat as the select 10,000 referrer! Referring business is what it's all about and BNI Deal and Sandwich are one of the best, out performing some larger chapters - well done everyone

October 2009 - Chapter raises over £100 for local charity.
Serita Boxall, fund raiser for The Martha Trust [website] received £123.42 on behalf of the trust. Monies were raised over the past few months my members contribution through small fines at meetings
Each week members are asked to...turn off mobile phones, fill in referral slips correctly, not to talk during presentations etc, but alas some feel it necessary to support a good cause. Well done everyone
In return The Martha trust has used members services for their redevelopments work. Many thanks for your support Serita and co.

October 09 - Tides partnership renewed. After a successful year sponsoring Tides Leisure (Vista-Deal) pre-school Crèche, BNI Deal and Sandwich confirm 2009-10 support.
Sept 09 - Chapter members support local sponsored walk

Members son - George Stevenson (and mum) walked the 7.5mls from Sandwich to The Zetland Arms, Kingsdown in aid of local charity Red Balloon (severely bullied school children).

Sept 09 - Go-Karting, Chapter helps raise over £5,000 - 5 chapter members attended the inaugural charity event at Buckmore Park, Rochester - more info to come soon ic photos and race card.
The event was organised bythe BNI in aid of Kent based learning charity

Over 165 driver took part in the 90 Min edurance race - BNI Deal and Sandwich came 3rd

Sept 09,founder chapter member and IFA Gregory Braithwaite celebrated 22 years of marriage with an interesting hair art presentation. By the looks of it the 25 years of marriage design will be slightly smaller

26th July 09, Deal Raft Race challenge
Crewed by Mike Anderson, Jamie Thomson, Bryan GB, Nathan Lacey, Alan and Tom Wheatley BNI 'Enterprise' made 4th place in this years Raft Race Challenge.
10 Rafts took on the English Channel on a breezing Sunday afternoon, assisted by a favorable tide the steel and timber raft constructed last year by BNI members ran the winning rafts a close race. Peter Varrall (Chairman, Deal Chamber of Trade and BNI member) started the race at 2.15pm along with the carnival queens.

July 09, Deal Town FC renew partner scheme with chapter for 09-10 season.
After a successful 2008-09 season Deal Town FC renewed their partnership scheme with BNI Deal/Sandwich.
BNI design group will be producing program covers and advertising as individual businesses with the Deal Town FC. Bob Chivington (Deal Town FC) said 'last year was fantastic, the support from BNI really helped us with our programs, Fanzine and Pub Quiz publications, many thanks' |

July 09, BBQ at St Crispin Inn - Worth
Over 50 members, friends and family attended this years BBQ at The Crispin Inn, Worth. Weather held for a great evening which included a raffle raising monies for The Martha Thrust - Photos - Graham Robinson
July 09, Mark Hughes., NSL Fire and Security joins chapter. Mark and business partner Ian Hughes attended 2 meetings as visitors and signed up immediately. Mark's Fire and Security business is based in Dover but opted to join Deal/Sandwich BNI in preference to Dover.
June 09, Ryan Holah Roofing contractor joins chapter. Local roofing contractor Ryan has been in the trade for some years but his sole proprietor business is very new. Ryan sees BNI as a great way to attract more business from the area and has already linked up with existing construction members

May 09, Neil Hornsey, N2 Design Studio joins chapter. Neil is an architect based in Thanet, a star is born!

May 09, over £500,000 worth of business completed, since the chapter started BNI Deal and Sandwich business leaders have poster over £500,000 worth of business. Chapter Director Jamie Thomson said 'this is a major milestone for the chapter, I was a member in the early days, it's great to see old faces still with us and new member reaping the benefit of our referral system'

New leadership teal (L-R) Tony Mils (sec/treas), Jamie Thomson (director) and Nigel Stevenson (Membership) take over. With increasing the membership top of the agenda the new team hope to take the chapter up to 30 members and beyond by October 09.
All 3 have been chapter directors before so experience and maturity abound! Look out for some fun on a Tuesday and plenty of social event over the next 6 months
